A love story
Melalina Torres spent her childhood on the finca her father, Julián owned in the mountains of Condega. When her father sold the estate, she felt like part of her faded into bittersweet memories. Years later, she met Don Néstor Plasencia, and fell in love. Their marriage brought both successes and challenges. They had the joy of raising a family and the resilience to further the multigenerational Plasencia tobacco farming and cigar making trade.
In the 1990s, after returning to Nicaragua, Don Nestor surprised Melalina by repurchasing the estate as an anniversary gift and thus reconnecting her with her past and the enduring legacy of her father. Today, Hacienda San Julián, stands as a testament to love and resilience, symbolizing the enduring link between past and present.
